The mobileforce is for laptops and forceware for desktops and have been tweaked to support a better variety of cards than the Nvidia drivers but i expect you knew that.

It was a stupid question. I have dozens of past forceware drivers on my PC but for some reason I thought they were both for notebooks.

Another heads up... 175.16 has basically passed Beta Testing, and I'm now on the final phase of testing. I may get this driver out earlier than planned (which was Sunday, 5-18) and just get it out today.

after installing the public release for the first time of the tweaked 175.16:

1) i like the installer and the way you can choose between installing a tweaked or non tweaked, i thought that was cool

2) after installation, i think it would be better to include an option in the start menu to remove installation files for those that do not like to have "un neseccary" files on comp.

in all in all its all good.

That's what the Uninstall is for in the Start Menu programs group the installer does.

Maybe I should rename the "Uninstall" icon to something more specific, such as "Uninstall NBF MobileForce Installation Files". I just like keeping things neat, and the way it's named now, with just "Uninstall" does that.

ahhh k

when i pressed it it say do you want to remove all traces of the driver from your system : yes/no

i didnt want to press yes incase it removed the driver as well! - too lazy to reinstall :P

but i admit it does look neat with just "uninstall", could put it in the readme about that unistall means u can delete installation files without removing the driver from system.

I personally have to give credit to nVidia for atleast updating their drivers in a fairly consistent manner...always a new beta out or something. As for overclocking, I do find that nTune is fairly reliable on my system (AMD x2, 7150m/630M)....kinda a quick and stable overclocking tool but then again I don't have any voltages unlocked or fan control to worry about.

Now some suggestions for my chipset...get rid of or fix the smart dimmer option...I can't get it to work no mater what I do.

Without going on too much of a rant ATI really needs to get their asses in gear and make the 4000 series already so nVidia will have to make an ultra-enthusiast card to stay on top. When that happens, the 8800 series won't cost a friggin' arm and leg to install and still not be able to play Crysis maxed out.

I just started using your drivers and they work very fine for me. However, my 9650m GS isn't recognized as that card, but as an 8600m GTS. I don't know if this is a problem, as it hasn't caused any problems yet. just asking if it could be fixed

Not sure if this is the right place to put this, but i would recommend having a look at the new 175.19 drivers, heres a list of changes:

# Improved 3D performance and load times for GeForce 8 and 9 series GPUs in some DirectX 9, DirectX 10 and OpenGL applications as a result an improved shader optimizer.

# Supports single GPU and NVIDIA SLIā„¢ technology on DirectX 9, DirectX 10, and OpenGL, including 3-way and Quad SLI technology.

# Supports Hybrid SLI Technology to turbo-charge graphics performance and enjoy intelligent power management.

# Supports NVIDIA GeForce 3D Stereo Technology.

# Several game and application compatibility fixes. Please read the release notes for more information on product support, features, driver fixes and known compatibility issues.
