Nvidia 8400GM or 8600GT??

Hey guys, I just pulled the trigger on a Dell Vostro 1500. I got a 2ghz Core 2 Duo, 1 gb ram (will upgrade myself), 80gb hard drive, Nvidia 8400GM, etc. I got this system for about $650.

I don't plan on doing any heavy gaming, but I might fire up a game here and there. Do you think I will do fine with the 8400GM or should I go up to the 8600GT?

I'm not looking to do any Crysis type gaming here, just more moderate stuff. I just really would like to not spend an extra $100 if possible. How good is the 8400GM card? Thanks!

Thank you very much sir, that was very informative and exactly the type of info I was looking for! It seems as if this card will suffice as I'm not looking to play Crysis type games on the laptop.

I can't wait for Dell to slap an 8800GTS in their mid-range XPS laptops. Even the 8600M GT seems a bit slow these days, as I'm looking to play Oblivion...
