|France-based XiTiMonitor has continued to quietly observe the browsing trends of Europeans since our last encounter but it seems only the end of 2007 had something really worthy to report. After a few autumn months where Firefox adoption in Europe was stagnant the open source browser has again picked up speed in December and has managed to secure itself a 28% market share.
In the whole 2007 Firefox's share in Europe jumped from 23.2% to 28% with the biggest love for the Foxxy One coming from Finland, Slovenia and Poland where Mozilla's browser has a market share of 45.4%, 44.6% and 42.4% respectively. The slimmest Firefox communities are in the Ukraine and Holland, where one 16.6% and 14.4% net sessions are made via Firefox.
Overall, the 28% share in Europe is something Mozilla can be proud with even though it still is significantly behind Microsoft's Internet Explorer. IE may rule now but one can remember that another held the crown before it.
