XPS M1530 Touch Buttons and Heat?

Should they be easy to touch or do I have to apply allot of force to the touch buttons, to get them to work?

Also while the laptops on it stays warm under the keyboard, is this correct?

front of the units warm. the media keys can be a pain, some pressure is needed
