1520 question

I was looking at the Logitech X-540 at Wal-Mart, which is 5.1. While the speakers built into my laptop are okay, they just don't do justice to music, FPS games, or watching House

I hear the X-540 needs 3 ports or something? But the 1520 only has a headphone + mic jack. I'd like to be able to switch on 5.1 when playing a game, but what's the point in wasting the money if i can't use it?

What can I do?

buy a soundblaster express card maybe

You may want to check the card on that system, My Vostro 1500 appears to let me set the port (mic port) to whatever I have plugged into it, which is an audio source auto sensing feature of the on board sound chip. I do not know which one you have in your 1520....
