Has anyone ever benched this rig with 3dMark2001? I would like to see those scores if you did. Thanks.

I was getting about 9750 with mine. Just for the record, I have not posted a review yet b/c I am too busy, but no problems with my laptop. No LCD, button, etc problems. Speakers are a little weak, but its ok, I hardly use them and for the small amount I do its fine. DVD's, etc on a plane I would use headphones, so no biggie.

I have just sent an email and got reply from tech Elson Siu saying they have 3 units of laptops and all have the samething, saying its normal of use or something...so im not sure if he' gona issue me a rma or what, by the way, who exactly did you speak to from chemusa or did you bring the issue directly to your distributor?

They received the laptop today, and I was told by reseller it takes about 2 days for them to process it.

As far as the whole process. I sent an e-mail to the reseller about all the issues I had with the laptop and let him know that I would like a replacement instead of fixing it because it had too many problems. Also, I told him I don't want to pay anything extra for shipping and he agreed to cover the shipping costs. I had to fill out the RMA form on chemusa website and same day one of the reps called me (Erica) and asked me some questions about the problems. Then she said they will take a look at the system and if needed replace it. After I got off the phone with her I got a little upset because I didn't want repair period I wanted another system, so I e-mailed the reseller again and let him know that I don't want repair and if that's the case then I would rather return the system. He got back to me right a way and he assured me that they will replace the system. So, if that doesn't happen when I get the laptop back I will return the system and expect full refund.

Reseller been very helpful and prompt, so far I've been VERY happy with him. I can tell that it's important for him to please the customer. His feedback on resellerrataings.com also shows that. We'll see how it turns out for me

okay so how did you manage get the shipping lable, they mail it to you via us postal or just simply email you the usps shippin lable, and what method of shipment was it?

well , I did not go straight with reseller since he's third party, so I went straight to their rep, Elson who he stated the lcd is normal, now im a little bit resentful, since what chances out there other notebooks have such defect lcd, so I asked him if the issues can be fixed (lcd backlight, spkrs buzzin at high volume) , please do so or else id request new system, or a completely refund, now im still awaitn his email. hopefully, he will give me a better news, because from his tone of speech seems they assumed that all systems are like that, are normal condition...i will keep update here also..

Reseller e-mailed me UPS shipping label and the whole RMA request took just a few hours. I didn't talk to him personally we were exchanging e-mails only and I am keeping those in case I need to fight over refund, which hopefully is not going to happen because I do like the laptop and I'd like to keep it

EDIT: another thing I did ask the reseller is that if it would be possible for chemusa to test the new system before they ship out, he assured me this will be done.
i highly doubt his assurance as i had my problem with my wireless switch, well anyways, I just emailed the reseller , hopefully looking some good outcome , and i am too intend to keep the laptop, but i stated in my email to reseller if any case that the lcd backlight is unrepairable or the same issue with new replacement , I might as well have completely refund or store credit..

here is just an update, i just received email from my rep, Elso, he replied that for now just hold on to the laptop, He would defintly look into this issue, and look into more of same models, and decide whether if its fundamental problem in order to replace new lcd or what..so basically im just like a sittin duck...hopefully it doesnt run out my refund dates..

any update on this furious?
yeah sure, well i just got a call from Elson , my tech rep from chemusa , he told me that they will mail me shipping lable, and go ahead send the notebook back, what they gona do is replace a new laptop for me instead fixin the issue, and he assured me the new one without the backlight exist since he'd looked at it. I guess im gona have reinstall every craps in again and gamble for none dead pixels screen..

I also got email back from my distributor as well, he stated that he has same laptop with same issue, and to some extent if its not any worse the backlight issues would be normal, and no harm in anyways since you look at it directly, but due to my perfectionism, i told him name me other brands of laptops out there could possibly have such defect lcd with backlight leaking out, so he'd agreed with me its really up to chemusa what they gona do with it..

so I believed chemusa techs just had a meeting today regardin this issue as i knew that there were several of you rma back for same problem, and they decided its buyers call whether refund or exchange..

overall I am very happy with the result, both reseller and chemusa were been very patient with me and satisfy what I am there to ask for. and so of course how could I give up such sweet lappy and their wonderful service..Ima gona rma back upon receivin shippin lable asap!

Glad to hear they are looking into this issue and replacing with the one that doesn't. I am worried too about getting another screen with dead pixels. Anyway, hopefully I'll get mine soon, because it's been about a week without a lappy.

I had my fiance, (who is now known ex, can we discuss that or would it be off topic ;-) ) visiting me for a week and I was a little out of digital world for sometime, women can do this sometimes. So, I even had time to forget that I sent my laptop for replacement...

well I am getting a little pissed here with Chemusa. Called them on Monday and they are "still working" on it... wth? They received it last Wednesday and it doesn't take a whole week to replace a notebook. I told the guy (who sounded Asian and I had hard time understanding him, I have nothing against foreigners, because I am foreigner myself from Russia) that I expect the replacement of the notebook, and he said he will make sure it's done. I will call them up tomorrow again to find out what's the status on that.

Well guys, i was just leaving the house, the suddenly I hear that something was dropped somewhere. I figuire it was nothing serious and just ignored it, but once I opened the front door I see the box from chemusa and UPS truck driver leaving. So he never rang the door bell and just threw the box on the ground. How inconsiderate. Anyway, everything is fine and I installed windows XP without any problems. It doess appear that notebook was replaced, but it's hard to tell, everything else was the same. This one doesn't have the problem with the screen or the touchpad, so I am happy about that. Also, I didn't notice any dead pixels yet.
