so I am pretty happy so far that reseller of my laptop is covering shipping charges to send it back for replacement and he also assured me that they will test the new unit that I will be receiving. If I would be buying laptop again i would definetly go through him.
btw, i think there is one guy working there, but he is been very nice, and fast to respond to any concern I had, I've probably sent about 10 e-mails... anyway I am not affiliated with them, just had very pleasant shopping expierience
yeah i ordered from him three times too and business went like charm...plus chembook has 48 hrs turn around policy which pretty nice...
im still debatin whether send this unit back for my minor backlight issue...i mean mine isnt as worse as KLAS's based on his picture..hopeflly once my panel arrives i can repair it if not i guess i would too go thru shipinng hassles..
"Intel Pentium M “Dothan” processor will be made using Intel’s 90nm fabrication technology known for some issues with power leakage and higher than initially expected thermal dissipation and consumption. The code-named Dothan chip with 2MB L2, which initial core-clock is expected to achieve 1.80GHz, will at some point have higher power consumption compared to the Banias, sources among notebook makers said. As a result of such higher thermal envelope laptop manufacturers have to redesign at least some of their chassis to gain compatibility with the new CPU."
