Hi folks,

I recently acquired a super clean E1705 running Vista Premium for a smokin' price. Problem was, it had a smallish, slow (5400 rpm) hard drive. I got a used 100GB 7200 rpm hard drive for it, went through the cloning process using the software included with my Apricorn DriveWire cloning tool, and now Media Direct won't work properly as it did with the original hard drive. Here's what happens:

When you press the MediaDirect button (obviously with the computer off) the initial MediaDirect screen comes up for a moment or two, then after that, Vista boots into the regular windows environment!

I even tried downloading Acronis TrueImage as mentioned here on the forum in various threads and using that software (which looks the same as the Apriocorn software....maybe it is?) I re-did the process, but I still get the same result.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Chris

Edit: I found several posts when searching for answers where other people cloned their hard drives on a MediaDirect equipped computer and had no problems afterwards, so I'm at a loss as to what went wrong with mine....
