I'd tell them M1710 or M1730. I know you're not trying to rip them off or anything. The reason I said that is that they're giving the option of the E1705. Which gives them the opportunity to screw you over, again.
Only reason I'm saying this is because I went through the same thing with Dell back in July. They replaced my E1705 (T7400, 2GB, 7900 GS, 160GB HDD) with a low-end 1720 (T7300, 1GB, 8600M, 120GB HDD) and I fought them about it. They ended up replacing it with an M1710 (T7200, 1GB, 7900 GS, 100GB) before I did my research and contacted the really high-ups in Dell to get something done, and I got more than I bargained for (M1710, T7600G, 2GB, 7950 GTX, 200GB HDD). Mind you that I started this process in the beginning of July (like July 2-5, I don't remember) and got the final replacement in mid-August (August 18th, to be exact). A month and a half of my time.
That is why I'm telling you to go to the higher ups. If you want to wait it out and see what you get this 2nd time around, that's fine, and totally up to you if you feel confident in what they're going to do for you, but my advice stands. It'll be the same thing I do if Dell tries to screw me on that same M1710 I mentioned above's replacement. I won't let them waste over a month of my time again.
