I purchased this DDR2 memory for my Alienware m766 laptop

Here are pics of the old and new ram. The new ram almost fits, but is off by about a 1/2 a millimeter in a 2 places, I researched it and believe this was the correct ram?

Dude, the hynix stick is DDR 333, 256 mb. You need to get the same type of memory your laptop came with. DDR2 won't work........

Probably Alienware has a custom RAM, like Dell, which only wants you to update with/using them.

nope, nyako's theory is right.

EDIT: Actually i look over agian, Kingston's RAM is longer and should be DDR333 as the tag stated. And the AUM RAM is 667MHz which mean is DDR2. Than i dunno which is300 bought. And that Kingston RAM is using Hynix RAM Chip, strange.
