well i got new speakers and its still there. im gona take out the modem now to see if it fixes it. fter that its a new mobo and or HD

Man that is really weird. Have you tried running a hd diagnostics test to see if there might be anything wrong with it?

no, which program do you recommend?

I might just live with it, i dont feel like jumping through hoops with dell

Only program I know is the one via dell in the special partition...however that never finds errors.

i think the dell one just checks to see if your hd is connected

I would go for a MB change, The Audio amp is the only thing I ever seem cause this kind of noise

don't believe so, as long as that HD is supplying the info all will be fine

Update- Getting a new motherboard.

If that doesnt work, maybe a new HD.

If that still doesnt solve the issue, im just gona have to live with it

do they test mobo's b4 theyre shipped out?

All parts will be tested before they get to you, they have to guarantee that it's a perfectly good refurb product for useage

interesting, im really hoping my new mobo fixes it. If not maybe a nice bigger Hd and maybe that will even fix it.

it is intermittent, it happens at idle and while she is using it. she doesn't game at all. i noticed it when i first got the computer

i am actually on the phone now w/ support, but they arnt doing anything... it has been 2 hours already.

sorry for the distracting sig, it is really old... but timeless

i always do a dell chat session i fin its more convienetnt and it gets stuff done faster.

Does the sound seem like it may be giving out? Like in iTunes or watching movies?
