Question about the Intel Matrix Driver for M1730

I've read how you need to extract this file to a thumb drive to install vista on the 1730 but how the hell, do you do it no one has really cleared that matter up. It's an EXE and winrar doesnt seem to help.

Also how would the process go for XP, I'm thinking about installling it as well and I would like to know how to get the driver installed there as well I know you can press F6 to install a raid driver but how do I get the file onto the system I thought you needed a Floppy Disk for this.

And I'm not really down for slip streaming maybe later but not right now, thanks again.

P.S. Dell sent my system with 8700GT SLI but I'm trying to argue with them about giving me the 8800GTX's that was said the would request for me.

Senior Rep supposed to call me in like 2-3 days any suggestions on how to get them to see it my way.

I found the easiest way to do this was to download and install the following:

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/conf...%2032&lang=eng

That's the newest driver directly from Intel.

Once installed, you copy the contents of \Program Files\Intel\Intel Matrix Storage Manager\Driver onto either a thumb drive or burned onto a CD.

When rebooting using the Vista installation CD, before the actual installation there is an "install drivers" option that you select and then you find the inf file that you have either burned or put onto a thumb drive. You should be good to go from this point.

In the case for XP, you'll have to use a burned CD with the driver files and press F6 as you've mentioned.

For Vista all you need is the driver cd. The Intel matrix drivers are extracted on the cd. When you get to the drive portion of the setup pop in the driver cd and search for drivers it will find and load them for you.

I got this taken care of I ran a command line and added "-a" to then end of the line to extract all files put them on my thumb drive and intalled without a hitch they should really mention that in some kind of paperwork that that driver is neede to complete installation of o/s

also how would it work with XP I want to dual-boot but I dont think you can just burn the files to cd as inder indicated, I thought you had to use a floppy, any ways around this?
