Video card problems

I can play CSS just fine i get around 70fps. But when i go and play kane and lynch or Gears of War i get less than 20 and in GoW i lagg out and get a driver error. I have tried to update the nvidia driver but i get problems on install

Vista HP
1.5ghz intel duo core
2gigs ram
nvidia 8600gtm

Your CPU is very weak. Only 1.5 Ghz? What model CPU is that?

Gears of War is a much more demanding game than the 3 year old source engine.
