simple FLAC question

I think that if flac is lossless in nature, there is no option on Earth that would allow me to actually lose bits when encoding. Is that right?

I mean, I understand that a clueless newbie (me) can use settings that will create very large files (non-optimal compression), but I won't lose bits, right?

In case you're curious, I was looking at "-A gauss" and "-b 4096" and removed them. Everything still works (or not?).

I can't think of any implementation of flac that would result in you losing bits. It is all in tradeoffs between power needed to decompress in real time, time needed to compress, and size of the file if memory serves.

That's what I was guessing, too. Thanks seablade.
