1730 with 8800 stuck in 'Pre-Processing'

I'm stuck in Pre-Production...
Has anyone ordered a 1730 with the 8800 card and made it to Production?
If yes, can you post a copy of your order so I can compare the item numbers? or PM me with your order number so my sales person can see what he is doing wrong?

Mine is in pre production as well. I am assuming that the 8800's are not available yet. Most companies are quoting late Feb....

When did you order ?

What is your expected delivery date?

I went through this twice

31st Jan ordered, quoted 21st Feb delivery (cancelled this one) (21 days)
4th Feb ordered quoted 25th feb delivery (21days again)

Cheers

Same thing on my end... they put in the order on 1/31 with 2/21 shipping then cancelled and re-entered 2/4 with shipping on 2/25 then they did it again and now my shipping date is 2/28.
My sales guy asked if I knew of anyone that did get into production and what their order number is so he can see if it was entered different than what he is doing.

I cancelled my first one as I renegotiated the deal :-)

I just checked the status tool and it still says 25th

cheers

I received 3 copies of the Lojack because everytime he re-ran the order they shipped the Lojack out. I did not want it in the first place and now I have 3 of them

Just be thankful you can order - us poor South Pacific people don't have the option yet to even order the 8800GTX version

On a side note read some benches on the 15xx Alienware beast fitted with a single 8800GTX - man 9.4K on 3D mark 06, really leaves the 7xxx series cards for dead.

Oh also my 8800M GTX SLI replacement card is stuck in pre-production also. original order was placed 1/29 and then canceled and reordered 1/31 and then canceled and reordered again on 2/6. I now have an estimated ship date of 2/13 with NBD shipping.

Mine says it is in production with a 22nd projected ship date. I did order mine through the member purchase program though. Wouldn't puprise me if either they are waiting on the parts or sold out already.

Same here... ordered through my work's EPP site and it shows it is in production currently. However a weird thing with the EPP order status is that unlike the dell home order status that displays different build phases, my order status only has three phases, pending, in production, and shipped. So the "inproduction" designation from EPP likely encompasses the normal dell build phases of pre-production, kitting, build, testing, boxing, and ship prep. So it is likely my "in production" 8800M SLI M1730 is in the pre-production phase just like you guys.

Before Dell announced the 8800m option for the M1730, I was investigating the SLI 8800M in the Clevo D901C and from what I gleaned after talking to several Sager resellers, Clevo is expecting to get the SLI 8800M kits at the end of February and I assume Clevo would have the same supplier (Nvidia) as Dell so Dell will be getting the nvidia 8800m's in the end of February as well.

When I ordered Feb 3rd, the SLI 8800M option showed a 9business day delay so my shipout date was Feb 25th but now if you go to the Dell M1730 configurator, the estimated delay time for the sli 8800M option is 15 business days. That and the fact sli 8800ms in dell spart parts are backordered as well seems to support the theory that the SLI 8800M still are not released yet (supposedly nvidia has been having major sli driver issues with the 8800m).

If the SLI kits end up being delayed significantly past the estimated ship date (hope this doesnt happen,* knock on wood), Hopfully Dell have be issuing out some Dell customer satisfaction credits and also allowing us to upgrade to the Penroe(sic) CPUs!

Looks like the single 8800M GTX quad-core Sager that got delivered last week and for which I have a rma issued is going to take advantage of Sager's 30day return policy even more now!

Awesome, that's good to hear. Hopefully that means they will ship soon. I bet mine does before yours cause mine is just the cards and yours is the whole laptop. I will be sure to post once they ship. Please you do the same if it's before mine :P

You never know... they get more $$ if they ship mine vs. yours. With Dell, it is all about the $$.
The race is on...
