Looking at purchasing a Sager 9262

Hello all.

I am in the market for a powerful gaming notebook. Price isnt really an object as I'm using the purchase to boost my credit and have $6,000 to work with.

I spent all on a Dell XPS 1730.
Specs:
Dual 8700M GTs
Core2Extreame Dual-Core
4-Gigs Memory
Dual 64GB Solid States on Raid-0
yadaya

It didn't really perform $6,000 worth to me, scoring around 7-8k on 3DMark06 and getting TERRIBLE FPS in games. Given it was a little compatability problems, but regardless, it's being returned.

I turned my attention to the Sager 9262. I've read mixed feels about Sager.

Would like to know some openions if you care to share them

Well, the Sager NP9262 is going (2-3 weeks?) to support the tremendous nVidia 8800 GTX in SLi. It will house three hard disks and a (desktop) Quad core processor such as the Q6700.

It is not fair to compare this with the mainstream Dell notebooks...

I didn't realize Sager existed till about 5 days ago

I'm just looking for the most powerfull gaming notebook I can buy and Sager seems like it.

Plus it doesnt look as...flashy. The XPS yelled LOOKATME a little much.

Having just moved from Dell to Sager. Overall I like the case. The webcam mount could be better though (it looks like it needs a clear glass cover IMO). Performance is fairly good though.

On the other hand, if I was really looking for a $6k purchase to boost my credit, and was needing a notebook, I'd buy a $2.5k to $3k notebook, then spend $3k on gold or another asset that doesn't depreciate as quickly as a high end notebook.

Thanks for the reply! From the pictures I've seen, I love the case.
I don't use a webcam so thats not a worry.
I would try to make it an investment, but I want to splewge

How does the 8800M GTX with Vista?
I really like the 8800M GTX with Vista. With a single GTX, I really don't like 1920x1200. I ran COD4 1920x1200 on my external LCD, and I just preferred the extra visual eye candy, and speed when dropping to 1680x1050. Then again, if you are going to buy a several thousand dollar notebook, you probably want Dreamscene (moving desktop background and the ability to preview when you widows button tab / mouse over a toolbar. Vista x64 also has pretty nice driver support so that isn't an issue. In the last few months I upgraded everything to 4gb + (desktops and personal notebook) and therefore went from XP32 (pro or MCE) to Vista Ultimate 64. I really enjoy the new UI and with the 8800M GTX and a decent CPU, save Crysis, I am very happy with the performance.

What I have no idea about is SLI driver support in Vista.
