dang thats a nice score, what model?
hm... how the heck did you get that much? Are you pulling our leg? As far as I know all emachines come with 9600 64MB, I really doubt you can get that much.

I am getting 2700 on a stock settings w/ 9700 & 1.6 centrino

alot of emachines have that. Someone even pulled 3400

People have to realize that 3Dmarks03 is also a composite of both GPU and CPU scores. Since the AThlon 64 is such a powerful and high performing CPU, it is very much onpar with many of the P4EE systems we see. (Like the ~3500 scoring Inspiron XPS).

If eMachines were to upgrade to Radeon 9700, I would have little doubt that it would be comparable to a high end Dell or whatever DTR. But as is, eMachines systems I believe are Arimas, and they have soldered on (unupgradeable) GPUs.

yah .. plus i oc'd te video card.. albeit very conservatively.. still i'm pretty happy with it though.. and yes, a lot of it has to do with the cpu... which i have not yet overclocked, fwiw. that may be tonight.

I agree.. but right now obviously that would blow out their low pricing thing.. also something that really impresses me is how cool this thing runs.. even with an oc'd vid card..

What kind of 3dMark2001 scores are you getting?
hm... I might as well get AMD64, I am not really happy with my score...

You do realize that 3Dmark03 is just a SCORE right?
I mean, a system with a Radeon 9800 Pro with a Pentium 4EE 3.4 Gig CPU would likely score higher than a Pentium 4 2 gigahertz with a Radeon 9800 XT, but the latter gets better performance in games. Period.

CPUs are not bottlenecks for games. Graphics cards are. So is the HD and Mem to much lesser extent.

Your Centrino/Radeon 9700 WILL get better FPS (download FRAPS or something) in any game out right now compared to an eMachines 680X.

my default score was:

3dmark03: 2619
aquamark04: 18,997

after tweaking my card using ati-tool i got:

3dmark03: 3160
aquamark04: 26,450

the overclock was just done to my video card alone. and it was at a stable level, no overheating, no artifacts

yes again its just a score

only the aquamark is a real world benchmark coz its after a real game engine

3dmark is overrated imho coz its benchmarks are based on no engine, just their own created video scripts...

i mean farcry i was getting avg 30-40fps
world of warcraft avg 30-40fps
unreal 2004 avg 60-70fps (vsynced)

thats what counts right?

score is just numbers~
