whoa

"From the day we realize the basic spec of the 9800GTX, we do not have any hope of its improvement. It still using G92’s core, did not have any noticeable improvement compare to 8800GTS 512MB.
We don’t recommend anyone to buy this product. If you really want to buy it, purchase an 8800GTS 512MB instead. When you pay for more than 20%, the only thing you can get is one more MIO connector."

down with the GTX!

I do wonder why anybody that researched buys a GTX over the GTS I think there are gonna be moving probs on these cards

donkey, you've been hating on the 8800 Ultras and now the 9800 series...Why don't you just troll somewhere else. If you don't have anything productive to say or rather any cash to buy better gear, then just post in a mid gamer section for people with the bestest 8800gt's for under 200$

In this case it's just clear that the GTX is just a renamed and repriced GTS chip. That's why I say down with it.

Plus it's not even the matter of money, I could afford the parts I just don't choose to buy products that exceed my needs.

Maybe those will compare better to the GTS...still probably not worth a $100 premium tho
post #128 of 180
so you choose not to buy parts that exceed your needs, but you like to post in here EVERY TIME something negative is said instead of doing some research and finding out exactly whats going on and or if its a better card or not?????

Just move on man, leave the 9800s alone, 9900s and any other series that cost over $300, trust me we get the idea that you don't like better performing cards.

I would most DEFINETLY buy a 9800GTX over a 8800GTS, sorry!

Of course I post negatively...this is just like the whole 9600GT SLi better than 8800 Ultra, when facts were actually brought up you just seem to forget. The key to me is frame/buck for me, that's just how I'm going to rate things. The 8800GT in the 8 series was what i saw as the prime card, it was at a fantastic price point for the very high performance.

I just try to lay out a curve of cash-performance and try to spot the points where it's optimal, that's where I aim. I know you won't always get the BEST, and I admit that...but that isn't what I'm ever arguing. For example it seems the 8800GTS and 9800GTX score very closely from game to game, the 9800 even fell behind according to the charts posted somewhere around here and so it's just cheaper to go with the 8800GTS.

No need to start attacking me, I'm the one trying to talk from the data here.

Heres an idea, NO ONE GIVES A SHI#....We care about performance, CLEARLY if your buying a 9800 YOU don't care about premiums over the 8800GTS...So get off it, if your not buying a 9800 or have anything about the positives rather then always comparing it to SLI/TRI/QUAD low end setups then again Move the ____ ON!

9800 IS CLEARLYYYYY TOP DOG, if you want to compar it to a 9600 SLI, then compare it to a 9800GTX SLI, or a 9800GX2 Quad setup. Otherwise leave it alone...The 9600 is a great card and I do believe you when you say 2 x are better then 1 single 8800 Ultra, but again your compare two cards to 1 single.

You don't really post anything positive to these high end vid card setups, you always say well its a 100 more, or 200 more, or you could sli a cheap A## card and get almost the same performance and bleh blah.

Notice your last remark, its cheaper to buy a 8800....Again, get a better job or something, cause i'd rather take the newer card then the lower, this is a 9800 thread not a 8800, so drop the 8800s already and 9600s.

heres a hardcore gamer site, not sure you'd qualify, but if you look at the actual specs it is actually a faster card:

Rockin' I'm trying to give any visitors a perspective other than BUY BUY BUY, some people don't want max performance, that's where I come in.

Could ya just read what I write a little bit first?

Don't worry, I'm done now master.

ARE YOU FU#ING KIDDING ME...Your comparing a STOCK GTX to a OC'd version of a 8800GTS...Yea REAL NICE MAN.

Again look at this link, now the 9800GTX is faster! WOOHOOO

http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/...ew/default.asp

OOOH AND ANOTHER WEBSITE AGREES 9800GTX FASTER!!!

http://www.hardwarezone.com/articles...519&cid=3&pg=1

YET ANOTHER WEBSITE Agrees the 9800GTX is the way to go, and offers tri SLI unlike your 8800GTS:

http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/13...hts/index.html

Shall I continue, I can get review after review stating the 8800GTS is a slower card, as it should be. You can't compare same clock speeds just cause the GTX has a higher card to begin with...May as well compare a OC'd version 8800GTX to a 8800 ULTRA stock speeds, same principle huh?

As for max performance...Are you mentally retarded, this thread is all about the 9800 not about how some low rate unknown website says there oc'd lower card performs almost as well as a underclocked GTX.

You might want to look at that again. You tell him to pay out the money for stuff. Then call me his twin. Yet I have QX's and a few GX2's but yeah I'm a bit of a penny pincher . Your an idiot.

Look up even further at all the posts (in other threads as well down here) that have proven you wrong. If you chose to ignor that it's fine but still doesn't make it right at a later date. I actually have a 9800GTX, which do have better yields and oc's than the gts from what I've tested so I'm not in that fight. Then again I'm just makin this all up.

You may want to read the links before you post. In the 2 conclusions i looked in out of the 3, they all stated that it is probably not worth it to buy the 9800GTX over the 8800GTS 512.

Listen to rockin'...how could you disagree. Livin' in your dream world over there
post #138 of 180
Yup, you sure are a penny pincher. Next thing that comes out is already in your cart. Only time you pinch pennies is with shipping, which is the reason i normally (well used to) get things before ya.

I think Rockin=Choco!
