Will Alienware take my laptop back?

I was just curious. Does alienware take returns, minus depreciation, for unsatisfied customers? It's not that I'm unsatisfied, but my desktop just died and I need replacement parts which means bye bye laptop.

I think they offer a 30 day return policy minus a restocking fee. But after that I bet you're outta luck.

u might have an extension seeing as u had major problems

I was tempted to send mine back too today as I saw a voodoo m460 for only 1300$ !!!
But I think Ill just keep it until the pci express gen of lappies come out.

Thats one thing I do LOVE aboout the sentia is NO ugly legacy ports!!

Smurf, have you done a search on desktop parts yet? Prices are pretty low if your not trying to build a super HiPerformance system. You might be able to have it all. I dont think AW depreciates a return but there is 30 days and a restocking fee. The depreciation will be there if you try to sell it though.

A !5% RESTOCKING FEE!!! which within 30 days is just as bad if not worse than depreciation...

Well I ordered a new motherboard for my desktop, and I'm going to start building it up with parts from there. Here's the specs I'm going to try to build.

Asus P4P800 Deluxe Motherboard
Pentium 4 3400Mhz CPU(overclocked to 4000Mhz)
2x Corsair 512MB DDR400 memory

The overclocking is probably the reason you toasted your desktop in the first place... you really want to do it again?

The restocking fee is used for people that return systems with no reason. Alienware builds these machines to order, so when you return one they have to dissassemble it, and they can't use the parts again in a new system as they're used.

According to what I've read on their forums, if you have a legitimate problem they can't resolve, they'll take a return without the restocking fee.

Many people though order one, and for whatever reason decide they can't pay for it, or don't want it after a few weeks of play. If AW accepted returns for no reason, they'd eat a lot of labor due to these people's inconsideration.

No, Overclocking isn't the reason my desktop died. The VGA card wasn't aligned properly and fried the AGP slot, rendering the motherboard useless. In fact, I'm glad it happend, this just give me an excuse to get a new motherboard, processor, and ram.
