Question regarding Dell XPS M1210 LCD Screen

I purchased a Dell XPS M1210 less than a year ago and wasn't fully informed of the warranty. I guess accidental damages or something like that mean your laptop screen is not covered...well I put some papers between my laptop keyboard and screen and closed it...now I have all these lines and a spider web looking thing on my screen which indicates a cracked screen...is there any way I can get around something like this? I called Dell and they said I was screwed...and if so...where is the best place to take it or buy a screen from?

If you have completecare you should be covered. Anything else, no.
