Downgrading to XP but want to save programs?

Thread Starter
I have a Lenovo 3000 c200 that came with Vista Business along with other nice preloaded software.
Vista runs toooooo freakin slow and I want to downgrade to XP Pro.
Here's the catch. I want to keep the preloaded software,i.e, Quickbooks,Office XP, etc.
Does anyone know the procedure for doing this?
I know I need a CD and DVD to back up Vista but will that let me keep my other app as well?
If YES, how can I reload them onto the system once I install XP Pro?
I'd love to keep the system exactly as it is except for this sloooooow O/S.

Thanks for any help in advance.
I surely do appreciate it.
