I just purchased a Dell Vostro (Win XP) 1000 & tried to hook up my Acer 22" monitor to the external port. The external monitor doesnt seem to work properly. The screen is "jittery" like the old CRTs would do when there was an electrical interference with it. Following the direction of tech support, I downloaded the new driver for the monitor, flashed the BIOS, ran diagnostics on the monitor, rebooted in safe mode and nothing seems to work. The monitor doesnt have the "jitters" when in safe mode but the res is like 800 x 600. The video card is an ATI Radeon 1150 256MB. I've been told by Dell that the card should support the monitor. Oh...the monitor works fine on my other laptop (Vista). Has anyone encountered this?
