Well then sorry, I can't help you.

I've been around the internet one to many times to know that the best way to prevent getting scammed is to stick to protocol. If you're not a scammer, I apologize; however, I just can't take the chances.

Hmmm... I hardly believe how a buyer can scam a seller. Don't worry about it, becasue I have the same concern as well. I remenber the last time I bought a lappy on Internet and received a DVD player for $1850.

So, you were unhappy with the xps gen1 you broke, and then you GET A BRAND NEW $5000 laptop, and now you're going to sell it?

What, going to keep your old one? I guess it wasn't so broken, now was it.

Way to keep my prices frikkin high for my corporate needs. SIGH.

I'm not keeping the old laptop, I'm either gonna give it away or throw it away, since there's no reason to keep something that can't work properly for more than a few minutes (you read the thread, you already know what I'm talking about). And the only reason why I'm selling the laptop is because I'm never trusting Dell again (I'm gonna use the money to build my own machine this time around). Not only did they sell me a pile of crap for a laptop, they insulted me, laughed at me, put me in call transfer hell, and gave me the runaround when I asked for their supervisor.

You have no idea of the shit I went through with Dell, so don't even hint at the idea that I scammed the system.

hahaha

Someone is pissed. Great.

A Santa Rosa bios will brick your system... just put the card in and see if it posts.

So at 9:00 this morning I get a call from this guy named Tom, and he's sending me a brand new system!

Here are the specs:

RAM: 2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM 667

GPU: nVidia SLI Dual GeForce 8800M GTX 1GB
+ AGEIA PhysX 100M Processor

WiFi: Intel PRO/Wireless 4965a/g/n Mini Card

What did you have before? (what did they replace with the M1730)

I have an E1705 (in my sig) the video card in it died a month or so ago. I was planning on buying a new video card and just selling it for however much it's worth, because after all the horror stories I didn't want to bother with Dell Support. But if it's possible I may get a decent replacement I may...

My old lappy was a M170 with 2GHz, 1GB, 80GB HD, 7800GTX got replace with my current lappy about 15 months ago. It took me some times with Dell, but Dell did it. So far I am really happy with my M1710 and planning to purchase another M1730 or M6300.

psythik. I was watching your item on flea-bay. As i like to buy things from there!

Anyhow. I was actually going to bid on it until it got a little higher than i wanted to pay (over 2500). I saw a TON of "no-feedback" dudes trying to buy it.

I was actually looking to see how much it went for, but it says invalid item?!?!?

Just was wondering if you got scammed and hoping that comment from soulsaver about what goes around comes around didn't come around!!! There were a lot of "no-feedback" sellers of 1730s. I kind of thought maybe yours got yanked instead of another one! Anyhow, just wondering if you sold it and for how much.

I'm very very VERY tempted to purchase the one from Yoob's friend, but my credit card is sort of giving me the guilt trip after building a PC and buying a lot of stuff for my volleyball teams lately!

Anyhow. Hope the sale went ok.

Here's what i get when i tried to find out how much it sold for:

You are actually right about one thing-- The"no-feedback" seller.

That is why people usually buy from Power Seller with tons of feedback. I'll do the saem too.

What I mean comes around goes around. If someone is calling you a scammer for no reason, I bet you will be pissed. And why not let others to pissed you off.

Got it jah2323

It "sold" for $5500 to a scammer. The next highest legit bid was $2500 (so I would have gotten around $2350 after shipping and fees). Not even five minutes after auction closing, eBay sends me the following email:

I checked recently completed listings for other laptops; turns out that 90% of these laptops were won by the same 4 scammers. Did they really think that anyone in their right mind would ship off a laptop that sold for more than its value to some guy in Asia and not be even the least bit suspicious?

With that being said, a guy who lives 30mi away from me has offered me $2400 for the laptop. I'm in a situation where the bills are due so I'm gonna accept his offer, because I don't think I'm gonna do much better than that.

hey silver. Whatever man. I get sick of people who's machines broke like twice pitching a bitch about it to dell and then getting super nice stuff. At least psythik had an xps model. i just thought it was strange. The people that really piss me off are the ones that DO NOT have an xps series and get XPS out of their lowly little inspiron models. You seriously think that's right?!?!?

I didn't say he was a no-feedback seller, or that he was going to scam people. i am looking for a machine for a co-worker, and every other 1730 that is SOMEWHAT reasonable on flea-bay is from no-feedback sellers.

Piss off as i DO get sick of corporate sales for dell especially on laptops and desktops that seem to be a good 30% - 40 % more than the same laptop sold to home users. I'm paying for the fact that people are taking advantage of Dell's support.

And psythik, this isn't to you.
