Black Screen During gameplay

I recently replaced the video card in my EX7, it was a X800 which broke, and now its a 6800 go. Most of the time it works fine, but when i play games the screen will, at random it seems, go black and the only way to get a picture back is to restart the laptop. The videocard was not cheap so i was wondering what could be causing this. I downloaded the most recent drivers for it from alienwares website, the only place i could find em still. I had no idea laptops were such a pain when they break!!!!

It might be a cooling problem. Try propping up your notebook when you play so the vents have more room to push the hot air out. this happened with my Alienware 5750.

They can be a pain. Make sure you removed the x800 drivers completely. They might be causing an issue.
Worst case scenario is to reformat the HDD

Doesn't seem to be a cooling issues, i took the part of the case that was over the videocard completely off, and it, like always, is sitting on a cooling stand so i don't think thats the issue, or if it is, then the video card is broken becuase its never going to get better ventilation in this laptop. I am currently trying to exchange it for a diff one, but the guy so far has replied twice just saying to DL new drivers, hopefully he'll wake-up soon, cause its getting frustrating.

Usually support agents will check every aspect of the notebook before resorting to exchanging or returning even if you had already done so. It's best to comply with each request once or twice before realizing it is not helping.

All i bought from them was the videocard, they have never worked on my latop at all. But I am sure they don't like dealing with returns or exchanges still, but they're going to have to soon.

you can download a free version of Driver Cleaner...after you uninstall the drivers and software...you run Driver Cleaner and it will clean out any and all files and registry entries that the uninstaller may have left behind......you then re-boot and install the newest drivers for your card...

here is a link to Driver Cleaner Download http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=745
