yea definitely, at least get a rifle. And do an easier AI difficulty, they're wicked at the hardest settings.

and make sure you patch it http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/st...l?mode=patches

I have to agree with the Stalker recommendation. I rushed through the first go, now on the second.

This game has a TON of embedded missions and hidden gameplay features. I just figured out another one a couple of days ago.

You can make this game as long or as short as you like.

Did you manage to get to the real ending?

What is the real ending...you gotta let me know. I remember getting to the big blue thingy at the end and then a cutscene.

Hahah yea all those are the fake endings, theres still like another 1-2 hours of gameplay left.

Those last 2 hours are the best in the whole game

you hve to meet the travel guide and he gives you instructions to get a key which unlocks a door later on (you need to get in pyripat).

Or use the glitch to get the door open

It also works using the guass rifle, ive tried it.

I finally got through Stalker to the real ending. Quite a bit more fulfilling.
Thanks for the tip Ghaz!

You mean this one I'm sure. I did the ending both ways...joining them and then refusing.

I gotta figure out how to get one of those exoskeleton suits earlier on in the game, aside from paying the Barkeep 200K.

Anyone know how, or how to get the barkeep to lower his prices? My last run I ended up becoming a friend to Freedom and wiping out the Duty base - and killing the dude that blocks the doorway next to the bar. There is a safe in the back room, but it doesn't have any functionality. I was going to steal one =)

In order to kill the guy blocking the doorway next to the bar, you have to piss off the guy at the bar entrance (the guy behind the cage). Since you automatically put away your gun after entering the bar area, you have to throw a frag through the bar entrance, aiming it at the stairway going down to the right. Once you injure the dude behind the cage, the guy blobking the door beside the bar automatically comes out after you.

Theres exoskeleton suits all over the place. Before you enter the door that needs the keylock/keypad, theres one laying on a pile of boxes. Theres also a few laying around in the maze thats filled with monolith guys.

I am talking WAY earlier in the game lol! Like a way to steal one from either duty or freedom, or from the barkeep. Or at least buy them cheaper...

I dont know of one, but you cant run with a exo suit on and i usually use that nice run feature to run for my life. Plus some of the weapons they use go right through the exo suit and just drain life.

So i guess its a trade off

Ghaz, what part of the game do you talk to the travel guide and get the key for the pripyat apartment that has the decoder?

Is it a mission from the fat guy at the beginning of the game.

I can't remember exactly when the mission get's triggered...but if I remember correctly, it was just after you meet in Strelok's hiding place for the second time.

The mission is called "Talk to Guide".

You meet Guide at the game's starting map in the house that's blown to hell and always has the psycho K-9 visitors (you also meet alota other folks in the same place prior to getting the Guide mission).

yea you have to meet with the guide as Buck said, and once you do that, it triggers the mission for finding the coder.
