Software for Acer Aspire 4720 webcam (XP)

Hi everyone,

I bought an Acer Aspire 4720, installed Windows XP and Linux Ubuntu. On XP, I can see the webcam working as a USB device, but I don't have any software to make it "do" something other than showing my ugly face.

I need to record, shoot some still images, and being able to video chatting (i.e. msn messenger).

What software can I use? Do I need something else (driver)?

The webcam is working, but has no software to handle it. Thanks!

can u use the cam via Skype?
. if yes then the driver was correctly installed. Finding 3rd party app would be not an issue
. if no, driver must be found and installed first

Hi qhn,

It does work with Skype, so it is correctly installed. Now... do you recommend any software to handle the webcam?

It would be awesome if it worked both for Windows and Linux, but first I have to make the webcam work in Ubuntu

Regards!

Thank you very much. I'll try out those links and software and let you know how it works.

If anybody has a good webcam software to reccomend me (either for Win XP or Ubuntu), will be also appreciated.
