Travelmate 4400 wireless not working?

The front light that controls the wireless no longer lights up when I push it. Win XP finds the wireless card and the drivers are installed properly, but I can't find any of the wireless networks that are in range. (Another Acer laptop and an HP one right next to mine finds the 3 that are in the area.)

Is the wireless card broken? Is there a setting that I need to change? Once it stopped working I formatted it, hoping it was a windows problem... still no dice.
If the card is likely broken, whats my next step? My warranty is done, is it possible to replace it? Where should I buy it, Acer or somewhere else?

About a week ago, I was cleaning up the registry and may have removed some of the entries for the acer e-stuff. I formatted and re-installed all the key stuff, but no dice. I may have missed installing something, their update list for this laptop is ridiculously long.

No restore point.

Any chance there's a list out there of the files I should install from their website after a format?

it still sounded like a MISSED.installed driver. try one from this link

do you have launch manager installed, you need that to get the wireless and bluetooth button to work, there not hardware controlled but software which is Acer Launch Manager, reason I know is I have travelmate 4404 with out that software installed it dosent work, hope that helps

I have same problem with my travlemate 2310 when I re-installed XP. It shows that Wifi is on but just can't detect any network. Uninstalled driver using device manager, uninstall application using Acer CD, then re-install driver only and it came back....
