Charging issue with A135

Hi,

I have an A135 with a charging issue. The machine will not charge. The A/C is connected but the battery meter shows it is plugged in but not charging and the battery will not go over 26%. Also, the battery LED is dark while the A/C adapter LED is lit.

I replaced the motherboard and had the same issue. I assumed it was a DOA board so I replaced it again along with the D/C jack. I still have the same issue.

I have tested the A/C adapter and it checks out good. Could this be an issue with the battery? Any information will be appreciated.

It is a Satellite A135-S4666 running Vista home basic. Thanks again.

Batteries are only guaranteed for a year. It also depends on whether the battery is a lithium-ion or nickle based. Some will last for years and some unfortunately will not.
