1) What is your budget? Sorry don't know dollars, in GBP-£700 £750 if amazing

2) What size notebook would you prefer? As large screen as possible (portability not a major worry).

3) What tasks will you be performing with the notebook? Gaming, IM, Music, School work (essays etc.), browsing internet.

4) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places or leaving it on your desk? 95% around the house (before you say just buy a desktop, that's not an option)

5) Will you be playing games on it; if so, which games? Oblivion, Medieval total war2, i would like to be able to play assassin's creed but that is probably asking too much.

6) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like? Not really though i would like to get a brand i know.

7) How many hours of battery life do you need? 3 I guess, not a big issue.

8) Do you mind buying online without seeing the notebook in person? No unlesss its from some dodgy dealer.
No.

9) What country are you buying this in?
England

10) Would you prefer standard or widescreen? Prefer widescreen but doesn't matter all that much

11) From the choices below, what screen resolutions would you prefer? d. WXGA or WXGA+ - 1280x768/800 or 1440x900; Wider viewing version of XGA, good for movie viewing or spreadsheets.
Doesn't really matter.

12) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen?
Don't care

Build Quality and Design

13) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?
No but it would be nice if it looked nice.

14) How long do you want this laptop to last? A few years, 2-4 maybe.

Notebook Components

15) How much hard drive space do you want
; quite alot 250 maybe?

16) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a DVD-ROM, DVD-CD/RW or DVD-RW drive? DVD-RW

Thanks

Thanks for taking the effort mate. I actually bought this Toshiba for £600 but am actually a bit pissed off because it only has half the vram, a faster processor and 1gb less RAM for only 100 £ more. Thanks anyway tho.

ASUS M50SV-A1. see my sig. Got it in the states for under $1300 (660 pounds). Probably one of the best 15.4" around next to the Dell XPS M1530.

I'm selling my E1705 for about $900 USD or ~450 pounds shipped.

Dell Inspiron E1705 Specifications:

CPU: Core 2 Duo T7200 @ 2.0 Ghz
RAM: 3GB DDR2 667Mhz
GPU: nVidia Geforce GO 7950 GTX 512MB GDDR3
HD: 120GB Western Digital Scorpio 5,400 RPM

Its lightly used and in PRISTINE condition!

I know the HD is a tad small but with the extra money you save you could easily upgrade it to the
size you want for much less than buying new.
