Dell XPS M1330 Review

Hardware wise the notebook was a gem, however with the default Vista install I would walk exactly 25ft from my wireless access point and the signal would drop right away. IT was as if someone had thrown up a brick wall. I re-imaged the laptop per tech supports suggestion and that didn't fix it.

In then end the distribution of the driver that you receive with the Wireless N card has a bug. The individuals(s) who packaged the driver set an admin option for max. range to 25ft in the driver config file. To fix this, either use the wireless admin pack to create a new driver, or simply get the driver from Intel and not dell.

All in all for the weight and price I've no disappointments, the fingerprint read is iffy at best, but aren't they all? This machine really excels in the graphics area, given that I have the Nvida card and not the Intel I can't comment on comparison, however it runs most modern games at a very smooth level.

Can you tell me what battery backup time you're getting?
