Newbie question - Corrupt Display

Thread Starter
Hi guys (and gals?).
Hope someone can help me out with my kids notebook.
Got an ASUS A6000 about 18 months ago and it's been great.
Installed Vista Home Premium last summer.
BUT
For the last month or so a lot of the screen has been coming up bright pink - the background in Windows Explorer is particularly bad.
I've updated the Go 7300 drivers and reinstalled Directx 10 but to no avail.
Is it a graphics card problem or LCD problem.
Thanks for any help and advice you can give. I'm not much of a techie so simple answers would be appreciated.

UPDATE!
Managed to connect a 2nd monitor and the display looks fine - white is white not pink! Thus I'm thinking its the LCD display rather than drivers etc. Still don't know why though.
Is this easily solvable or are we talking an expensive repair?
Thanks again.

I'd call Asus about it. You may have to replace your LCD
