Looking to buy a laptop with dedicated graphic card

Hello,

I am looking for a laptop that has a dedicated graphic card and I am getting so frustrated because I didn't know it was so difficult just to find a laptop that has a dedicated graphic card that isn't a cheap piece of crap like dell or HP. I looked at sony vaio, but it's way out of my price range.

I am looking to pay $900 or so, and I want to be able to play world of warcraft and games with comparible graphics.

Can anyone help me out?

Please don't suggest Dell, HP, Compaq, or Acer...

I was looking at sager at the $779 laptop and I would get some custom stuff, but someone said that they use desktop graphic cards that over heat.

I just want a laptop that is going to last me a while and not die in 5 years and not over heat and have a decent video card that is dedicated and at least 120gb harddrive space, and have core 2 duo processor.

Please help! I am so lost and I am so tempted to just give up and never touch a computer again, that is how frustrated I am getting with this quest to find a decent machine that can handle world of warcraft and half-life 2 and comparible games, with decent front side bus and cpu etc.

I wish toshiba or sony vaio had something decent that is $900 or less with a dedicated graphic card and all the other things I said.

LOL...Not trying to be rude or anything, but you might want to re evaluate what you are expecting anybody to tell you, considering you think the three largest notebook makers are cheap pieces of crap [slight generalisation there] and yet you can't afford the brands you do like.

As you have decided what's crap and what isn't but still don't know that NO notebook uses a desktop graphics card,I suspect someone has been filling your head with ideas.....stop listening to them.

HP and Dell make fine low end notebooks that are probably a lot more reliable than Sony's bottom end models, especially construction quality, and are also the most likely to give you what you are looking for.....for your price....with the best warranty, and there is good reason they are number one and two worldwide in sales, and its not because they sell cheap POC.

If your keen on the Sager you mention, let us know the model number and spec's maybe.....it won't have a desktop graphics card.

Other than that,I guess your stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Good. I ordered it and now I need to do some research of how to get the drivers for windows xp professional, I can't stand vista and I don't want it on my laptop, so I want to go back to XP.

On that website I posted another person said he/she put XP on his/hers asus laptop and he/she had no trouble finding the drivers except for the turbomem thing. I don't know what turbomem is. Lol.

I know how you feel about Vista,I had another go at it over the christmas break, but still can't learn to like it.......it does seem to be getting better for most people though......and of course the time will come when driver support for XP will be lacking and vista will perform much better.

You might want to check this thread out http://www.notebookforums.com/thread201425.html

Its regarding the G1S,but would probably have applicable info for you as well.

Good luck and enjoy your new laptop

BTW,turbomemory only works with Vista.

Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it! I will go to Vista when I absolutely have to.

I really don't like it and they also made it much easier for the government to watch what people are doing.

Not that I have anything to hide, I just don't like knowing that the government can just invade that way. Next thing you know, we will have cameras in our homes and we will be all be watched 24/7 with no privacy at all.
