HP Laptop typing in French

Hi, my wife has an HP laptop she bought a couple months ago and every so often it will start typing with French characters and she'll have to reboot to get it back to normal. I'm sure she's just hitting some key that activates it but not sure which, how do you stop it from typing with French characters?

It's an HP Pavillion dv9000

Lay off zee wine and zee cheese of course!...Sorry, I should roast in hell for that one...but I could not resist.

I am wondering if this is a BIOS issue, perhaps you should should check the updates, and see if there is a bios update available?

haha that was funny.

Back to subject, make sure all of the Windows updates are installed. A reformat would not hurt
