I'd appreacite for some direct download links for drives i might need to get.
You have a couple of options...
For the video driver you will need to head on over to www.laptopvideo2go.com
and pick up a driver with a modded inf file because the regular forceware drivers from nvidia's site will not work on mobile GPUs.
Or you can get riva tuner and unlock the 8600m gt to a 8600 gts and then use regular forceware drivers from nvidia's site.
If you head over to the ASUS forums and look in the notebook section then the g2s section you will find a thread with links to driver pack downloads for the g2s on windows xp. If you are lazy you can try to get a copy of driver genius pro from "somewhere" and use that to find the drivers.
If you switch to xp on that laptop, your going to run into problems. I already did it, and I ended up going back to Vista. Why you ask? Well the problem I was having was that my notebook would randomly restart and I would lose any unsaved data. This was extremely annoying and I tried everything to fix it but to no avail. XP runs games so much faster than Vista, which is why I switched, and once I did switch I definitley saw the difference. Now I am just hoping that the Vista Service Pack really boosts performance in games.
Hope this helps and good luck.
