Wi-Fi Saga Continued

Thread Starter
First off... I'm totally stoked to be the owner of an 8790. This is like a freakin' warp-speed upgrade from the Gateway Pentium Pro 200Mhz m/c I was limping on for nearly 7 years.

The decision to purchase a Sager was made with a little bit of reluctance, but all the research I conducted in other places coupled with the friendly written advice tucked away in this forum sealed the deal for me. Thanks PCTorque!

The issue... is the internal wi-fi card. I keep getting the following error on boot up.

The supplicant support has not been installed correctly. You need to run setup again to fix this problem. If instead you continue, 802.1x and WPA will be disabled.

I can connect to my Linksys Wireless-G router with no problems after successfully configuring a profile using the G-EzLink Client Utility. I've made sure that I am not using Windows to configure my wireless network settings.

I've tried uninstalling, downloading and re-installing the driver from the Sager Support site. (i.e., I unpack gn-wiag.exe, and double-click on setup.exe after having uninstalled the driver). I've even tried to manually select .inf on the "have disk" option for upgrading the driver, but to no avail.

It's a little annoying, but not a show-stopper by any means, to have to type in pre-shared keys for 64-bit or 128-bit WEP.

Anyone else experiencing this problem? Any hints, tips, tricks welcomed.

Its answered in this forum somewhere, cant recall right now, something about having to install it twice in a row to get it to work. Im currently getting ready to go through the same thing myself, hopefully I will figure it out as well.

What buster said. I had the same problem. DL'd drivers, installed, good to go. Problem is, I don't know where I saw that at... helping someone else try to find it right now.
