The reason why I'm asking you this because I'm worried that this might be the same problem that some of the owners on the other forums are having with their m15x. Once the temps reach a certain level, the GPU downclocks causing the big fall in frame rates. I hope that's not the case. Good luck with yours.
The only time I had heat problems with my m5550's heat was when i decided to try overclocking the gpu. I couldn't run it overclocked without a notebook cooler on.
In terms of heat, I'd suggest making sure the exhaust vent has a good foot or so in every direction to allow the hot air to escape and the intake vent also has a lot of space. Don't try gaming on your lap, use some kind of hard surface and/or a cooling pad.
