I am getting a new notebook. Should i wait?

Hi, i am getting a new laptop because i went all academic courses.

Should i get one of these:

1. Toshiba T5450 Geforce 8700M GT
2. LG T8300 8600M GT.

I will need the laptop to run DX10 games, latest games etc. My budget is $2000

I also have an idea to wait till september to buy my laptop. Should I? Will there be new technology in a $2000 Budget in that time, to run the latest games etc?

EDIT: This is a destop replacement, My desktop is an old Pentium 4 system with 768MB ram and X1600 pro. I am looking to get my new laptop for gaming purpose, as well as videos, and top notch performace for multi tasking.

my rule of thumb: wait to make your purchase until you need your new machine. reason is there will always be new technology that you wont get if you buy now. The flip side is once you need the new machine, make your purchase and don't look back, because there will always be new technology that is nicer, and less expensive than what you just got.

Toward the end of the year, Intel's new chipset will be out, and Nvidia's 9-series graphics cards should also be out by then, so yes it should be worth it to wait until September

should you wait is always a question you should answer yourself. If you need one now, buy one now. If not, wait. Keep in mind, you can play the waiting game forever.

With your budget, you should take a look at some of the custom-built notebook companies as well, like Sager or Alienware, because you could get a pretty decent midrange gaming machine.

As far as waiting, I agree with the previous posters...Wait as long as you can to make a technology purchase, but don't wait forever. Around September, however, there are usually back-to-school sales on some notebooks, so you might be able to find a good deal if you wait till then.

I have decided to wait till september to buy my laptop. Hopefully i could get one with a Geforce 9 series card
