Another Dell SCREWJOB! - Page 5

I remember when I was a teenager and we had Compuserve (text-based intertubes!). I started programming at about age 8 (a Tandy Colour Computer). I stopped at age 20 LOL Back then there was nothing to brag about because nobody knew what you were talking about; nowadays it's all about how many Facebook friends you have, how man cell phones you've unlocked, and how many xp points in WOW you got for killing warlocks or trolls or something. The internet has gone from "information" to "too much information"

LOL

Pretty impressive to me that someone so young would have so much experience thats all I'm stating.
Yeah, I'm fairly young (20), but I have good contacts. People I learn from, people who can help me out, etc.

When I first started doing my "thing" at TRU, I was 17, almost 18. Been around computers my whole life. For the most part, I know what I'm talking about, but I do make an asshat out of myself sometimes, just like everyone does at some point.

yea I feel ya I'm still in school and I am tech savy and can fix most problems that come my way but I'm no expert myself I'm taking some classes trying to get a it degree of some sort but I dont know jack about programming most experience I have is ALICE but repairs is kinda my thing I can pretty much handle the normal stuff people ask me for help with o/s reinstalls bad hardware etc.

I've spent most of my life playing with computers built my first when I was 13 back in 99.

Oh the good old days of a PII 300Mhz 13GB Hard Drive and ATI Radeon 32MB Video Card

I know I' pretty young compared to some out there who have been doing this type of things since well since it started, but I just cant believe how many people well younger than me people have so much experience with things that even I have never really messed with, I need to catch up.

Yep, it was called "Scan-Line Interleave". And it used a IDE-esque ribbon-cable. Ah the good ol' days.

They haven't done a damn thing yet. They're not being helpful at ALL, and they keep eluding my questions, etc.

Also, I just found out why my case was escalated to Fraud. Apparently, the guy who previously owned my system had nearly every part replaced in less than a month (around 40 dispatches) and now *I* am being punished for it.

Say it with me now...

What

I had a pair of VOODOO II's!! I remember back when you had to use an external passthrough cable to get it to work.

The first time I saw half life in openGL my jaw dropped.

OH OH and quake II!!!

and does anyone remember the coconut monkey mods that PC gamer made for half life?

That is a very common practice.

User A wants to sell his used computer, but it is all scratched up and old, so he simply gets company B to replace everything to brand new parts, and VOILA! new computer ready for sale!
