I don't think a regular tape software will be able to do this. Also, they aren't accepting any new requests for licenses (even if I wanted to pay), so it's a big no. It's discontinued. I checked now and it IS the kind of program I'm looking for. And seems to work (I will test it later, but may not because there is no chance I can keep it).
Point 2: I wondered why there is no program (Firestreamer, but doesn't seem a common kind of application) for that, when for what I've read about, a DV can handle up to around 16GB of data, which is twice what a DL DVD can store, not complicated software wise. And a tape is RW, btw. I tested on Linux and on Windows I guessed there would be plenty of them (commercial, ok)... lol.
Curious thing, we (I) generally talk about programs only available to Windows... What can I say... one more point to the penguin.
