e1505 / inspiron 6400 LCD problems

few things going wrong with my notebook.

first and foremost, the picture is almost completely black. i know, its the inverter or backlight. im ordering an OEM new replacement VIA ebay today, should be here by thursday.

second, when the LCD works (the picture is nice and bright sometimes), when im moving to close it (and only when im closing it), a blue line appears on the left side of the screen briefly. when i let go of the LCD, the blue line goes away.

also, once it gets past the 90degree angle, the blue line goes away.

im not sure whats causing that, but it makes me want to spend a couple hundred dollars and just buy a new LCD that comes with new inverter and back light.

thoughts? ive already taken it apart a few times. everytime i put it back togeather, seems to work for a few days, but eventually the problem comes back.

ok, so i did some tech work on it. when the screen goes dark, if i unplug and reseat the inverter cable, the screen comes back on when i turn the computer back on...

im guessing i have a bad inverter?

Or cable... or connection. I'd go the cheap route first and replace the cable. If no joy there then try inverter.

meh. ordered the inverter earlier this morning. was only 24$ shipped for an OEM one... probably going to order a new keyboard also since this one has a few sticky keys....

oh and when i say the pic comes back, it comes back EVERY time. like earlier, when i left work, i forgot to check something on the notebook but it had already shut down. so when i turned it back on, of course, black screen. so i reseated the cable and bam, screen back. cant get much simpler than that... so now im leaving the plastics right there off till i get the inverter in the mail
