Skinning Vista and other Customizations

Hey all,
I've been skinning Vista on my lappy lately, and im trying to sort of cross themes.

I'm wonder if there is a way to skin the taskbar only in Vista. does it have it's own driver file in the system32 folder like the welcome center does? if so which is it?? also I'm not looking far an entirely new skin--just the taskbar

anyone know how to do this?

Also, does anyone know of a way to remove system tray icons? aka is there a program that will allow me to delete system tray icons for running programs?

mainly im looking to remove the ObjectDock Plus icon from the system tray...but there's always others I'd like to dispose of. and i dont mean hiding the icons, I mean making them disappear completely

any insights to anything would be much appreciated

1. Right-Click on the Task Bar
2. Select Properties
3. Under the taskbar tab, click the Customize button
4. Select the program you wish to hide
5. Under the drop down box, select Always Hide, Always Show, or Hide when inactive.
6. Click OK

hey thanks for getting back

titanium taskbar wont really do what I'm looking for.
I'm looking to get the task bar to look like the Mac Leopard bar...but thats it...not the windows and buttons, just the task bar.

as for the tray icons..i knew about hiding them...i meant that i dont want them to be there at all. as in i want the program to be running, but not to show its tray icon

any more ideas?

this might involve modifying registry pertaining to the RUN entry(ies) - replacing the relevant icon with a blanco or nothing - very risque

Yes I've seen that Finderbar but I couldnt figure out how to make it look right...it just overlay-ed itself over the Vista taskbar and looked bad.

any tips on how to properly install it?
