Hi! I need to know what other uses think about Hypersonic today. I bought an EX7 at the end of 2004 and still have it, but I’m thinking into buy an EQ7 now, with the last quad processor.

But my experience in the past with Hypersonic has not being the most pleasant experience, to the point that my boss, the one that put the $$$ told me that he will rather me to chose another
Brand, but there is not too much options on this model, and after all the headaches, Hypersonic managed to get me a working machine an compensated me for all the problems, so at least I know what I’m dealing with, but, I can still go to resellersrating.com and see a lot of complaints about machines not delivered on time, or delivered with problems… so I don’t know what to do. I do stick with Hypersonic that I know what it is, or was, or do I try another brand based on the same kit?? Hardware is the same, but Hypersonic is in NY, I’m in VA, if I have a problem the machines is returned in 24 hrs…. don’t know…. Would like to hear what people that recently purchased from Hypersonic thing about the company…

Thanks

what are you going to use it for...gaming...business..what......I am waiting for a box to return my EX7 to see if they can get it to run like it should.....but right now I recomend Toshiba...they have somw sweet machines like their Qosmio line...they even have a gaming line of laptops...all which cost almost 2 grand less than hypersonic....I bought the wife a Qosmio and its been a top notch machine...and for service and repair...toshiba contracts with many local computer shops if you live in a medium to large metro area.......I live north of atlanta and in the atlanta area there are over 15 places I can drop her machine off for warranty repairs...and pick it up within a few days...so far we hadnt had to do this...its almost 4 years old and runs like new today...I also would like to try an EQ7 but my ex7 has stopped me from doing that right now......Hyper is no longer in NY..they are in California.....I am sending my ex7 back for repairs and depending on how it performs when I get it back wil decide if I ever can recomend Hypersonic again...so far all my customers have bought Toshibas due to my recomendations and they have all been very happy.......I build desktops and repair them here in my area for folks but laptops are a little out my my area because they are so small and there are lots of small screwd involved in working on them..I do work on a few laptops but not many.......As far as my EX7 goes...it costed me over 4 grand and was worth less than 3 grand..more like 2-2.5 grand...but I decided to give them a shot at making it right now that they are no longer in new york and all the unfriendly folks there are gone...so far dealing with OCZ hypersonic has been pretty good....just waiting for the box to ship my ex7 back to them...anyway...you can check out the qosmio or gaming line of toshibas on line or at circuit city..best buy and places like that...toshiba does make some cheap one sold at wal-marts but the qosmio line is sweet..I cant comment on their gaming line because I havent seen one ....even nVidia reconizes toshiba as a good gaming rig......they come fully loaded with everything.....my wifes had nothing left out you wouylod need....here is a few links

I will update my review on hypersonic here and resllers when I get my ex7 sent off and returned....but I will say the folks there now are 100% better to speak with on the phone now then they were in NY

I was a huge Dell fan for years but in 2004 they went down hill and I wont buy anything from them....the 2 computers I have customers bring in for repair are Dell and HP/Compaq......I have owned Gateways in the past but they dont offer many options anymore...but I havent had to wok on but one Since I started my side business and my first computer back in 1999 was a Gateway..I sold it 3 years ago for $300 bucks and to a co-worker and its still going strong today..not anything to play todays games with but he got it for his disabled sone and it does great for himn..old Pentium 3 1000 meg with 512 ram......

The problem with thos machines that do not meet my requirements, I do Spots for TV, run MAX, After Effects, and other programs that need the speed of a 3HDD raid, and a quad core to even strt thinking into do a job on that machine. I do most of my job in a a few Dual Quad cores I have at the office, BOXX machines, sweet machines that never ever fail, running 24/7 for 2 years some of the old ones I have here. So I know that I need something like the new EQ7, but I don;t know if to buy it to Hypersonic, which I knw already, and is almost $1,000 more expensive than Sager, or go with Sager and try people that I don't know but at least have not heard so much complains.

well they are the same machines...even some of Dells High end laptops are built by the same company in korea or taiwan..not sure which oriental country....I think sager can sell them cheaper because they are the official US distributor....I was looking into selling the EX7 's way back before I got mune and e-mailed Clevo and in return they sent me the # and contact to someone at sager saying sager was the official US distributor...but to get a deal worth buying a few I would have had to but way more tha I wanted from Sager and then I got my EX7 and no longer wanted to sell them ....the problem I had with hypersonic was the in- house tech support and the customer service with their I dont give a damn attitude.....I can say that I have dealt with one person at The new Hypersonic and I am pleased with his attitude and he seems like he genuinly cares.......so I guess you have to decide weither or not you feel the change in ownership is a real change in service.......

Do you know of any other brand with dual quad cores?
U can call toshiba and they do have raid option on the Qosmio and the gaming line if I aint mistaking...our qosmio is raid.....they only offer 2 hard drives though...I would look into one of those laptops with the electronic hard drives...everything I have read about them are great..super speeds of data transfer ect...they do cost a hell of alot for that option ..I think Dells will up the price by 600 bucks for electronic hard drives...no disks...I guess its more like a memory slab.......check out Dells XPS laptops......not sure which one but one is the same as the eq7 and what ever sagers number is.......they all came from korea I think.....and were made by the same company...all dell..sager...and the rest do is customize the case with their logo and grphics..... but the inerts are from the same place....I would try Dell but 2004 left a bad taste in my mouth and having tech support in India ..well thats more than I can take.....dell at one time had the best tech support in this country ..but they let a lot of people go anf moved it to india......

here are some links that just about describe Dells tech support today...if you need a laugh...these will do it for ya

http://www.illwillpress.com/tech.html

http://www.illwillpress.com/tech3.html

http://www.illwillpress.com/tech2.html

http://www.illwillpress.com/tech42.html

I hope you get a good laugh out of them ...but honestly...the first 3 links are just about how Dell tech support is today......with one change..they will answer the phone and say their name is Bob or some other american name and you know by his accent he was named something like amod ahmood abdule ect.....

Hypersonic are a fraud. They exist now as a front operation for OCZ to launder more dirty goods.

These machines do NOT live up to their claims of performance or quality.

They are re badged white box units which are purchased from Sager Midern. The OEMs are Clevo, Asus, MSI, Compal. ALL OF WHICH ORIGINATE FROM A CHINESE manufacturing base. The Carlsbad facility is used ONLY for FINAL ASSEMBLY of modular components, i.e. CPU/MEMORY/HDD.

AVOID OVERSPENDING on a NAMESAKE and do your research. If you desire a PROPER laptop AVOID these monkeys at ALL costs, as they are PROFITING from your ignorance. DO NOT GIVE IN TO THEIR SCHEMES!!! You have been warned.

I know how are they built, I know where they come from, and I had many problems in the past with my EX7, bur after the last time it was fixed, like 2 years ago... never had a problem again and I was able to do many jobs with it... I need a quad core for the kind of job I do, I'm not questioning the hardware, and I'm not going to overclock a laptop, just questioning if people had a personal experience with the machine.

Victor, I am not sure how many people here own an EQ7 and would be willing to give you a heads up on the performance, but if anyone is...please let VictorW know what to expect from the machine?

abs3nt, it is nice to see you trolling the forums again

I will ask you again, what is your order number? I would like to go over it with you and see if I can resolve whatever issue you have. If you don't have a legitimate grievance with our products, then I suggest you go troll elsewhere.

I can say with absolute certainty (as others on this forum can attest to) I am here to resolve any issue you have with your order to the best of my ability. If there is something I can do, just let me know.

pat. (not a monkey)

well my EX7 is in the shop..spoke with them last week..a little disapointed in the contents of the discussion...I-E troubleshooting techniques......wont go into details....but after spoeaking with them I suggested they do a few other things plus pay close attention to the pic I used for my desktop background, which was the mobo monitor readings while playing Medal of Honor Airborne.....that screenshot alone should have told them everything they needed......so I will wait till friday and check back on the progress.....I still have my fingers crossed that they can fix it....just have to wait and see...again I am in no hurry..I just want a gaming laptop........as advertised......

Today with all the single owner gaming builders being swallowed up by the big guys.......Hypersonic has a chance to shine and give gamers like myself a builder we can trust that will stand behind their workmanship and products...or they can blow it and turn into just another Alienware.......Voodoo....Dell....HP...along with others who's ratings and reviews were tops in the laptop world...but recently over the years have fallen and lost customers respect and trust...dont matter where the bulk of the machine was built at....hell you shop at Wal Marts..Home Depot...Lowes and other large corperate stores....most of what you are buying came from the same countries that these laptops come from...thats one of the problems of this country..we dont support american made anymore....so with that said..we the consumer have to take blame for the quality of what we are forced to buy also.

I will wait and see how Hypersonic has turned out since OCZ has taken the the helm......I pray they can steer the ship from the center of the storm and into smooth waters........just have to wait and see how my EX7 does when I get it back...if its a non fixable issue then it depends on what they do in that case....personaly I just want a gaming laptop

well, I wish you luck man, I can tell that my EX7 works fine since last time was fixed almost 2 years ago. But my needs are completely different than yours. I do not play games at all, just do TV ads, so my thing is brute rendering force.

Let me add to that that I finally ordered the EQ7, so let's see if they keep their word of shipping in no later than 10 bussiness from yesterday

iT done great on other uses..but gaming is what I bought it for....I could have spent thousands less and got the same thing.........My Ex7 was maxed out with the highests specs available exept memory..I went with 2 gigs of low latency and it was the best available at that time also....I do understand that sometimes in a basket of fruit...there is a lemon or 2...and maybe I just got a lemon...I bought a new Jeep in 1999 and it was a lemon.....I had to fight jeep with the lemon law here...but I won...I still buy Chrysler Products......I have owned mainly dodge and jeep and that was the only lemon I have bought ..bought 3 more cars from them sibce with no problems..latest is the Durrango Hemi...thank God for the MDI tech..it drops out 4 cylinders when not needed so I average 22-24 mpg on the interstate...and 17-19 in the city......with gas prices today and having to run super in it due to high performance engine.....its a blessing to get that milage...........

anyway I will check with OXZ tommorrow when I get home from work
