Annual Laptop Bug - Early Stages

So I've got my annual laptop bug... It's that time of year where I feel the "need" for a new lappy. Usually happens as soon as it gets cold outside, but we're a little delayed this year.

The laptops I already have and will likely keep are:
Clevo m570u
17"
Core 2 Duo T7200
nVidia GTX 7950
100GB 7200RPM HDD
2GB DDR2 667

&

eMachine M6810
15.4"
AMD Athlon
ATI Radeon
60GB 4200rpm
512GB

I use the Clevo for most of my activities and the eMac gets used only when I travel or if the clevo's unavailable. I also have more desktops than I can keep track of.

What I am looking for this time is a bit of a better traveler. So I want portability and a little power. It doesn't need to be a crazy gaming rig, but I would like it to be able to handle some graphics rendering. I'll mostly use it for Internet, entertainment(mostly movies, some games - nothing really new though) and some office work (word, Excel, MS Access.)

I want at max a 14" screen and 5lbs weight.
At minimum 2hrs battery life.
At least a Core 2 Duo processor.
A direct X 10 capable GPU - 32 stream processors on the card is sufficient.
At least 100GB HDD, preferably at 7200rpm.
At least 2GB DDR2 at 667 or better.
At least Wireless G.
Prefer an Express Card slot, but not necessary.
Prefer an optical drive - as long as I can put a CD into I don't need anything more specific.
A BIOS which gives me some control would be nice too.
At most I want to spend $2000

These are two that I am considering:
Sony Vaio
Asus V1 Series

Any thoughts on either of these? Any other recommendations? Anything I should look out for with thin&lights or ultraportables?

Thanks in advance!
Lindsey

If you're looking for a max 14" screen, you should be looking at the Asus V2 series instead of the V1. V1 = 15.4" screen, V2 = 14.1" screen

Good Catch. In my haste - I put the wrong one there. This is what I am really considering:

Asus V2 Series
