I have a Z1WAMP. It's my second Z1. Tried to "sidegrade" to a TR3A, but the HD was too noisy (loud clicking when read/writing), which was a drag because its XBRITE screen was simply unbelievable!

Z1 pros -- resolution (SXGA:1400x1050), excellent combo of light weight and power; great battery life with double-capacity battery (5hrs+3hrs for standard battery almost lasts through a flight from California to Europe).

Z1 cons -- too-small right shift key; tend to hit "Insert" key, which deletes characters; Sony's dumb system of preformatting HD as two sectors, which requires a reformat upon receipt.

Also, left trackpad button of my first Z1 wore down completely within weeks. I'm sure the same will happen with the new one, because Sony just doesn't listen. If you're interested, my old Z1 is currently available for sale on eBay.

I haven't heard good things about the Z1 or Sony at all. Anywhere (computers). I was going to buy a Z1 back in the day but yea, the prettiness isn't worth getting a subpar computer for 2000+

Hmm noise? i have fujitsu p5020d , which is pretty much same as sony tr3a. It makes absolutely 0 noise, and i have very sensitive ears. Even during hard drive load its real quiet, noiseless.
