Hi, I have a Gateway MT6729 laptop that had vista on it. I put Xp on it and I can't find a PCI device driver and my sound doesn't work also. I did have fun getting my xp cd silpstreamed to work with the SATA drive.
thanks for any help.

Did you try any of these? http://support.gateway.com/s/Mobile/...15095Rnv.shtml

They are all for your MT6729 and for XP, sounds like you didn't install your IntelĀ® GL960 chipset drivers, if none of your PCI-card/slots work, and it seems like you somehow forgot the SigMatel Audio drivers for your MT6729, if you did install any of the Gateway MT6729 drivers on the above website, and they none of them worked, then something is terribly wrong somewhere?

Yes they do, SigmaTel Audio Driver Version: 6.10.5365.0, and also, Media Card Reader Driver version: 6.0.6000.2001 are suppose to be backwards compatible, at least they were on my MX6453 Gateway Notebook, give them a try and see? if you haven't already...........if none of these work with XP, (I can't see why they wouldn't), (In XP you need to let windows find the Audio Control device 1st) you could always try some of the MX or ML Older Series Gateway models that come with SigMatel XP and Media Card Reader drivers, and as a last resort, you could always Google the XP Sigmatel Audio Drivers as well as the Media Card Reader Drivers, they do exist out there on the web if you know where to look!
