I'd like to install windows visata ultimae 64 bt on my lappy (I have it on my desktop- it's far more stable, and actually recognizes more than 4 gigs of ram)

Does dell give give this to you if you ask for it? I know other manufactures do, that MS gives it free to OEMS, and that it's included in the retail pack for free... anyone try to get a copy?

I tried online live support, and they said I'd have to pay $150 for it...

I also am running a 64 bit Vista on my desktop. I had a Dell Inspiron 1501 (with the AMD AthlonTM 64 X2 Dual-Core processor). It had 32- bit Vista Home Basic preinstalled. I installed 64 bit Vista 64 business on it for testing purposes. I assume that you purchased a copy of 64 bit Vista for your desktop (this is what I did). Since I didn't buy a license I ended up reinstalling 32- bit Vista Home Basic back on it since I didn't notice any performance gains.
