Sounds all good to me,whether "available to customers of the original game" means a free download,I don't know, but 8 new quests, more NPC's,and a supposed 80% reduction in loading times,is a pretty substantial patch....expansion....whatever.

I've been wondering how good the witcher is, I hear it has rave reviews. But the question is, is this game heavily dependent on RPG, or whats the big gist to it?

Note: More content is always better

Swordfighting,booze,drugs,fistfighting,women,sex[not graphic,esp US version],mystery,interesting characters,nice scenery,choices.

As we all know, one persons gold,is anothers poison,I suggest you try the demo,if your worried about buying it.

To me the only negative about this game,is it could be a lot more stable and a lot more effort could have been put into getting consistent frame rates, but to me,this is overshadowed by the greatness and dollar/per hour entertainment ratio.

The game is very dependent on the RPG element. Combat is okay, but not where most of the excitement lies. It's more about the story, the quests, and some puzzle solving. It's not as linear as some RPGs, but (imo) the story flows better than Oblivion. I think it has a fairly unique feel, which is what the game offers over other similar titles. The game it's most like (again, imo) is NeverWinter Nights.

I agree......nicely worded shazza

I enjoy the game as well, quite a bit. Do understand that if you've played Oblivion it is no where near as free as that, the lines of travel and strictly limited and in an act you can really only go to an immediate area. So, do know that it's not like Oblivion's endless fields and mountains

I just want to make sure they are releasing a new DVD of this right? I don't have to buy it now and download a patch later or something?

This was part of an email I was sent by cd projekt.

QUOTE."Aside from the value-packed retail version, the new content and improvements (including a DVD with the D'jinii Mod Editor, as well as two additional adventures) will be available to registered users in the form of a free downloadable update!"

So it seems....May would be the time to buy for anybody who hasn't already.

The Witcher, for me, was a very interesting experience. Yes, I completed it. Thoroughly. Great game, but it took some time for me to get into it.

As its not May yet,I think this is an interim bug fix together with the user editable module thingy.

I'll be really disappointed if this is the big improvement

Oh i didn't read it was supposed to come in May

Dunno what they've done with this patch, but it really screws up Geralts sword fighting capabilty.....he seems to spend a lot of time ALMOST swinging his sword, absolutely infuriating, especially with some of the tougher customers later in the game.

Also the extra Kaer Morhen quest you get with the patch doesn't seem to have any character sound....lol

SLI support doesn't seem to be improved.....still has a lot of large pauses with sli enabled and no its not paging or lack of memory....I increased my ram from 2-3gb especially for this problem and it doesn't make a difference....turning sli off fixes it.

Loading times are probably improved a bit,as long as you remove the disc after starting the game,if you don't it runs through a big long disc check BS thing every time you die, which will be often with the new patched sword fighting skills.

I give this patch a -5 out of 10.

I just started playing The Witcher a couple of weeks ago. I'm digging it, just wish we had the European version of the game .

So - is the "Enhanced" version going to be available as a patch/update?
