I finally install Suse9.0 on my 8790 with raid 0 dual boot with XP. This is the only distro I found so far can do it. The promise raid driver won't help and cannot be installed. Suse itself can detect the raid.

The only problem now is that you have to use ide=nodma. I cannot figure out this one though. Without DMA, it is ok due to raid 0 but apparently slower than XP.

A problem is: I turn on the DMA in Xwin and cannot boot up correctly, even if I use ide=nodma in lilo.conf. Can anyone tell me how to switch off the DMA of the hdisks?

I will post a mini-howto if anyone needs.
