Anyone else fell cheated by graphics card companys

I have been buying high end graphics cards for years now, but I really feel cheated when I see new laptops coming out with GPU's that should cost a lot more than what they do. I mean a 8600GS has DX10 and will do close to 3000 3D Amrk 2006. I mean WTF, my X800XT in my desktop wont do that and I paid big $ for that card a couple years ago. Anyone else pissed with Nvidiots and ATI?

Well, the X800XT is nearly three years old,so the fact that a midrange mobile card beats it [probably only in benchmarks] isn't really surprising given the steep improvements in graphics.

Its like if I still owned my Dell inspiron 8600 with MR9600 pro turbo saying that I was annoyed at the cheap price of the XPS M1730 which only cost a couple of hundred more than the old 8600 yet is probably 10 times faster.....its just not relevant....everything from cars to TV's are getting much cheaper and better performing[as a general rule]....its called evolution and improvement

So no,it doesn't p1ss me off in any way,I like the improvements......sorry,but I think you are being unrealistic.

I am glad things improve, but what I am saying is they are giving away what we worked hard to earn. Base laptops and PC,s should come with basic VGA graphics and nothing more. They are giving away the farm by installing powerfull graphics into lower end laptops and PC,s. Thats all I am pissed about.

Not upset at all. Think it's great. If more people have better graphics cards in their PCs / notebooks ... then maybe we'll have more people interested in gaming, which will then keep the industry healthy.

This is the first I've heard anyone being upset at the declining costs of computers. Weird.

I only make 1 big GPU purchase every 2 years and it usually lasts me those two years. No problems here.

I personally love the current graphics card market. Granted it moves so fast that by the time you've bought one there is already another out that is faster, but we as the gamers push the market for better cards faster. Without us there really would not be much progression as for Audio/Video Editing you can still use a card thats 2-3 years old.

Everything evolutes. It's like expecting car companies to release cars every year with the same performance or release a car every four or so years.
