fujitsu C 6631

Hello everyone.

I have a Fujitsu C series 6631 notebook and currently have win 98SE installed. I am trying to install WIN xp pro and all goes well until it gets to the " Setup is starting Windows" screen and it hangs for long periods of time, then stops completely.

I have removed a stick of RaM that was purchased after the product, thinking it may be that..also have checked the bios for the DMA settings. I have attempted to do a clean install and an upgrade but this produces the same problem, hangs at the same spot. I have removed the sound card, as thought this might be the problem

I have tapped the F5 key during Windows setup and have tried all of the different processor settings but still the same result.

I have 256 mb ram, a 30 gig HD and also can install windows ME, but I hate it.

Please, any help would be great and thanks in advance,

You can do either two difference ways: First can install lester os windows on your computer or u can take out your hd and put it in a differ kind of laptop and go through the same process.
